Description
St Michaels Church is a plain oblong with walls of roughly coursed rubble which may date from the end of the 17th century. The doorway, windows, roof and pews date from the restoration of the church in 1888. The vestibule is at the West end of the church with, unusually, external stone steps leading to a gallery above.

Commenting as part of the crowd-sourcing project Crwydro in 2014, Alan Fryer quoted two lines from a longer poem by the bard Cynan about Llanfihangel Bachellaeth:

'Yn Llanfihangel Bachellaeth
Mae'r lle tawela `ngwlad Ll?n

In Llanfihangel Bachellaeth
is the quietest place in Ll?n'
