Brook Street Methodist Chapel was built in 1818, a gallery added in 1830 and a Sunday School in 1840. The Sunday School & chapel buildings were merged and the enlarged chapel re-opened in October 1852. This chapel was then rebuilt in 1870 in the Simple Gothic style, with a gable entry plan and tall windows with Y glazing.
