Site Description Penygarn Baptist Chapel was built in 1727, modified in 1836 and 1905. The present chapel, dated 1727, is built in the Vernacular style, as a single cell rectangular building with a long-wall entry plan and plain interior. It has the appearance of a two storey house on the outside.This chapel was closed in 1969 when the Baptists moved to the Tabernacle in Crane Street, but they returned in 1970. Penygarn is now Grade 2 Listed.
