DescriptionThe Providence Methodist Chapel at Fron is a red brick and slate-roofed chapel. It is built in the Simple Round-headed style and although it has the appearance of a long-wall entry chapel, the entry is actually via a round-arched doorway in the side wall of a red brick porch. The front long wall of the chapel has moulded brick eaves and two wood-framed round-arched windows with Y-tracery. The rear long wall has no windows. The right hand end gable has a stone plaque inscribed: "Providence/ Wesleyan Chapel/ was erected 1837". Below this plaque is a brick one storey extension and a basement, the ridge of which is lower than the rest of the structure. The doorway tympanum is inscribed with "Restored & enlarged/ 1895". The wooden-boarded door is twentieth century. The right hand end gable to this wing contains a tall round-headed window over basement stables. The basement storey has a cambered-headed centre doorway with boarded flanking window openings, all with red-brick heads.
