Description
St James's church is located at the junction of Irfon Crescent and Victoria Road. It was built in 1896 to designs of David Jenkins of Llandeilo. Constructed of crazy paving masonry and red sandstone dressings under slate roofs, it consists of nave and slightly narrower chancel (with stepped buttress on the south where they join), west bell-cote, gabled south-west porch and north-east vestry with hipped roof and gablet. The church is lit through plate-tracery windows. Inside, furnishings include an oak screen and pulpit. Stained glass dates from about 1920.
