Description
St Paul's is located at the north end of Cwmtyleri, just beyond the settlement, on the east side of the valley road, set back within a cemetery/churchyard.
It was built in 1890-1 to designs of E.M.Bruce Vaughan, architect, of Cardiff. It consists of nave and lower chancel up against the hillside, north porch towards the valley view. The composition of the west gable is a pair of two-light plate-traceried windows and a bell-gablet above. The church is built of snecked, rock-faced Pennant sandstone, the nave roof is of hammerbeam construction, the pulpit and choir stalls are of timber in Perpendicular style. Stained glass includes possible examples by Celtic Studios of about 1970.
