Cwmavon Methodist Chapel was built in 1893 and demolished during the1960's. The adjacent Sunday School was probably built during the 1920's and this became a community hall following the demolition of the chapel, and a 1939-45 war memorial tablet was re-set in the hall wall facing the road.
