The original St Mary's Catholic church was built c1855-1857. It was replaced on the same site by a new building in 1998 designed by Kevyn Davies. Stained glass includes a standing figure of Mary holding an open book, her foot upon the serpent and crescent moon below by Christian Philips in 1999, a series of square etched glass images with texts in English and Welsh as part of the narthex screen by Christian Ryan in 1998 and a painting of the crucifix in 2000 by Kevin Sinnott.
