Christchurch Independent Chapel was built in 1905. It is a small, stone-built, chapel built in the Simple Gothic style with a long-wall entry plan via a porch to Hazlehurst Road.
By 1938 a larger, replacement chapel (506121) was built on the opposite side of Hazlehurst Road, and this chapel was retained to be used as a schoolroom. When the replacement chapel was demolished (by 1995), the congregation returned to this original chapel. It is probable that the congregation subsequently merged with Fairwater Independent Chapel, now known as Fairwater Christchurch (NPRN 9668).
