A church of St Barnabas was established in 1908 to designs of John Coates Carter, architect, of Wales and Prestbury, though an application for a building grant was rejected. However, a Mission Church (no dedication) is shown on this site on the Ordnance Survey second-edition 25-inch map of 1901 and continued to be portrayed until the post-Second World War period. It has since been demolished.
