Description
Salem Methodist Chapel was built in 1901-11 by architects Habershon and Fawckner of Newport, at a cost of £7000. This chapel is built in the Gothic style, with a gable entry plan and a four storey integral tower. It is constructed of rock-faced Pennant sandstone with Bath stone dressings and a slated ridge roof. Salem is now Grade 2 Listed for its regional interest as a late chapel designed in the Perpendicular Gothic style, with fine tracery and idiosyncratic tower, by a well-known regional architect.
