1. Three significant periods of building are represented in the present house:
I. Medieval Strong House of the Turbervilles, probably raised in the early-14th century.
II. Tudor Manor House of the Loughors, integrated with elements of the medieval strong house and attributed to the mid-16th century.
III. Late Georgian Mansion of the Knights, achieved in two phases: 1766-72 (Captain Henry Knight) and 1784-ca. 1810 (Colonel Henry Knight).
