Description
A building platform, part of a deserted settlement (NPRN 421258), is located on the west facing slopes of Gelligaer Common. The terrace measures 14.5m (east by west) by 7.8m, is cut back to 0.5m deep and built out to 0.6m high. Embanking on the lower north-east corner of the platform suggests the former presence of building with slab-faced walling about 0.8m thick. The building was excavated in 1936 and interpreted as a cattle house.
