DescriptionThis Rhossili Medieval settlement is comprised of the remains of two structures revealed by stream erosion that were excavated here in 1980; a building 17m by 7.0m, round angled with clay-bonded stone walling which overlies earlier occupation material, has been interpreted as a house. Associated middens produced 12th-13th century materials. The second structure, around 40m to the north was identified as a church.
The site is thought to have been abandoned due to besanding in the 14th century. Further structures are predicted in the area between the two buildings.
