Description
The barn, with an attached byre, at Great House Farmstead (nprn 401576) probably dates to the later eighteenth century. It is constructed of rubble stone, with an iron roof and a weather-boarded gable apex. A tall narrow doorway on the yard side is flanked by two square pitching openings below the eaves. The interior shows much evidence of rebuilding and re-use of timbers; there are two roof trusses with extended tie-beam ends.
