Description
A mid nineteenth century range with a warehouse at the centre, two houses or cottages, on the north (NPRN 26540) and a boat store on the south. Built on Greaves/Oakleys Wharf (NPRN 34160), first mentioned in 1856. They are described as they were in 1974.
The walls are of stone rubble, including large slate stone slabs, under a hipped slate roof. A break in construction indicates that the houses were added to the warehouse and store.
The three bay warehouse had a wide full height double door flanked by ventilation slits on the west. There were indications that this side was originally or was intended to be, open. The east side had three ventilation slits. The warehouse was open to the roof. At the north-east corner was a double toilet, entered from outside.
The two storey boat store also opened to the west. The upper floor was reached by an external stair on the east. Its gable end had a symmetrical two window facade.
The building has been converted into appartments.
