DescriptionA nineteenth century two-storey octagonal tollhouse at the north west end of Thomas Telford's Stanley Embankment (nprn 43064). It has single storey north and east wings and is of rubble construction under a slated pyramidal main roof. The building was moved stone by stone to its present location from its original site which was some 90m to the southeast at grid reference SH 27586 80324.
