Description
This record comprises a documentary reference to a shipping casualty which has been assigned to the maritime named location OFF HOLYHEAD pending more information which may allow a more precise location for the loss to be assigned.

Event and Historical Information:
The SELLAGH was a cargo vessel. On 10 february 1917 the steamer was attacked by gunfire, with the loss of the chief engineer. Another crewmember was injured, but the others escaped in boats and were picked up by the GREENLAND (see NPRN 274836). They were landed at Holyhead.
