DescriptionThis feature has been variously described as a cairn or ring cairn, but when visited in January 2009, no compelling evidence was noted to confirm the exact nature of the site. It is evident that there is a significant quantity of stone spread across an area c.10m square, but it is irregular in form. A small cairn of c.4m in diameter was noted at this grid reference, but whether it is the remains of a larger cairn is uncertain. The surface evidence suggests that has been some excavation here and the scheduling information says that a geotechnical test pit, NPRN 247429, was dug here in 1993 which may have caused the disturbance. Vegetation cover in January 2009 was grass. J.J. Hall, Trysor, 9 February 2009.
