Two separate earlier eighteenth century houses, both with later alterations.

No. 7 is a two storey building with attics, showing a three window front to Castle Street above a late nineteenth century shop front. It has a gabled roof common to No. 8.
A photograph of 1870 in the Eric Lewis Pugh Collection shows only two windows on the upper floor and a central doorway flanked by bow windows on the ground floor.

No. 8 is a two storey building with basement and attics. The basement opens onto a yard at the rear. It shows a two window front above a late nineteenth century shop window to Castle Street. It has a gabled roof common to Nos. 7 & 9. There is a two storey rear range with a slate gabled(?) roof.
A photograph of 1870 in the Eric Lewis Pugh Collection shows the roof to be hipped towards No. 9, then a single storey cottage. The ground floor has a central doorway flanked by windows, at least one of which was bayed.
The building was once the 'Dog Inn', later the 'Talbot Inn'.
