Event and Historical Information:
The WEAVER was a 49nt wooden schooner built at Frodsham in 1836. Technical and configuration specifications are given as 49.39gt; 65.9ft loength x 16.6ft breadth x 6.65ft depth in hold; 1 deck, 2 masts; rigging schooner; stern square; build carvel; framework wood; official 8128. and registered at Caernarfon. At time of loss on 15 November 1882, the vessel was owned by Griffith Owens of Tydeweilog (also the master). The schooner had been delivering a cargo of coal from Liverpool to Porth Oer when it was caught by a northwesterly force 9 gale and became stranded.
