Event and Historical Information:
The UNITED FRIENDS was a 34nt wooden sloop built in 1828 and registered at the port of Liverpool. At time of loss 22 November 1877, the vessel was owned by C Jones of Rhyddland, Flintshire, and under the command of master R Price. The sloop was carrying coal and maize from Liverpool to Trefadoc, and had nearly reached it destination when it was caught in a northwesterly force 9 and blown onshore to become stranded.
