Event and Historical Information:
The PANTHEON was a full-rigged ship belonging to the port of Boston, USA. At time of loss on 9 March 1854, it was on passage from New York to Liverpool. The report printed in Lloyds List on 11 March 1854 noted that the vessel had been blown ashore by strong northwesterly winds in Rhosneigr Bay. The vessel went to pieces some 5 days later. The crew had managed to save themselves in their own boats.
