Description
Discontinuous earthwork features representing a roughly 4.0km leat, running across the headwaters of the Gwenlais system, from the area of SN72884441 to SN69824278, & thought to connect with the Annell leat, or aqueduct (Nprn275692) feeding the Roman gold-mining complex at Dolaucothi (see Nprn95141): the feature has been sectioned at various points along its course, generally confirming its identification (Burnham et al. 1992; Burnham & Burnham 2004, 211-4), one section producing radio-carbon dates indicating that the channel was mostly filled by about 800AD (Jones & Maude 1991, 211).

Part of:
Annell-Gwenlais leat system (Nprn303911).
