Description
The remains of a longhouse, now re-used as a sheep shelter, It is shown on both the current and 1st Edition OS mapping and is located within a small fieldsystem (partially shown on the current OS map). It consists of a central building range, measuring approximately 20m long by 4m wide, with walls a maximum of 0.8m wide by up to 1.5m high. The longhouse was once possibly three celled, but is now re-built as two cells with no internal features or windows. The building has gable ends, and there is a yard to the east. Fields run off to the west and north, some of which are not on the current OS mapping. Peter Schofield, Oxford Archaeology North, 21st June 2004.
