Description
Clochfaen, Llangurig, is a remodelling of existing buildings; first in 1888 and more significantly by W. A. Benson in c.1915 to include a timber-framed main-range and cross-wing. The house is a very rare example in Wales of an Arts & Crafts house by Benson, built in an English vernacular style using Welsh materials, and retaining particularly fine external and internal detail in cluding 18th century fireplaces. The house was provided with electricity and central heating from the outset - some of the original radiators and pipework survive.
