Description
A flat-topped, turf-covered stony mound located at the SE extremity of Sully Island. It measures 8m in overall diameter, 4.6m across the top, and 0.9m high. The mound is being eroded on its seaward side and appears to have been dug into on its N side.
The mound's identity is problematic. Incorporation of outcrop on its NE side suggests the possibility of a natural origin, a local rise in outcrop that has been eroded. On the other hand, a beacon platform at this point would not be unlikely. As a Bronze Age burial mound it must be seen as a marginal case.
