Description
A large grassy swelling lies at the W end of a pasture field on ground which rises to the W and N. It measures 40m (N-S) by 29m and 1.3m high. The mound is turf covered and its flat top is slightly hollowed. It appears to be joined by causeways (?old tracks) on the N and S: on the N into the adjacent field via a gap in its boundary and on the S to the nearby brook which is used by cattle. The latter is flanked on its E side by a shallow ditch.
The mound lies close to a field boundary on the other side of which is a raised sewer running N-S. The sewer bank is about 2m high and its base is roughly level with the top of the mound. The latter may well be connected with the construction and use of the former but there is no otherwise clear indication as to the identity of this mound.
