DescriptionCastell-y-Gaer is a rather rectilinear oval enclosure, about 60m north-south by 30-44m, defined by scarps above steep natural slopes on the west and north, elsewhere showing traces of a stony bank, about 6.0m across, counterscarped wth an additional ditch about the south & south-east, producing an off-set approach to the east-facing entrance. A rectangular structure (Nprn310187) lies within the fosse.
The interior of the enclosure shows signs of cultivation, similar features occurring immediately to the north-east.
Extensive traces of relict fields occur to the west (Nprn310182).
