The monolith known as Bedd Porus carries the inscription: 'Porus lies here in the grave'. The stone was moved from its original site by 1773, c.1830 set in current location, and later removed to the National Museum of Wales and a replica erected within a railed enclosure, by 1973 only broken slabs could be seen within the railings.
