DescriptionCaer Pwntan is an oval, bivallate enclosure, extensively mutiliated and obscurred by quarrying and agriculture. It is depicted on OS County series (Cardigan. XXXI.13 1889). The enclosure, apparently stone-walled, was about 180m east-west by 155m overall, the inner circuit being in the region of 80-100m across: the form of the enclosure, with its widely spaced rampart circuits, resembles that at Castell Nadolig (Nprn304136) which occupies a similar position, across the headwaters of a valley to the north-east.
