DescriptionCardiff Bay Barrage is a barrier built to fill permanently Cardiff Bay (NPRN 420177) as part of the redevelopment of the former docklands during the final thirteen years of the twentieth century.
Measuring 1.1km (1210 yards) in length, completed in 2001 and resulting in a 200ha (494.211 acre) freshwater lake from the impounded Taff and Ely rivers, it has 'eliminated the effect of the tide'.
