Opened 1937 on site formerly occupied by the British School. Formerly known as Blaenavon Secondary Modern School; since absorbing intake from, e.g., St Peter's Junior School in Church Road, became St. Peter's Primary School, Park Street. The school amalgamated in 2011 to form the new Blaenavon Heritage VC Primary School, which initially opened on three sites in September 2011 – Hillside Nursery, Hillside Primary and St Peter’s Primary School. In 2012, the new Blaenavon Heritage VC SChool relocated to a brand new school building, which combined school and leisure facilities. The former St Peter's school buildings on Park Street were later demolished c.2019.
