DescriptionChristchurch is located in the centre of the village of Coed-y-paen. It was built in Early English, but pre-Ecclesiological, style in 1848 to designs of architect Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt. Delayed due to legal reasons construction was completed in 1860-1. The church is built of grey-green Forest stone and comprises a dominant three-stage west gable tower with entrance, three-bay nave and one-bay chancel. The interior is plain and whitewashed but with stiff-leaf carving on the chancel arch imposts.
