Description
1. Design attributed to William Winde. Probably constructed between 1668 and 1705. Stone steps lead down from the top terrace at the right of the aviary which forms the centrepiece of the terrace. Arranged as an arcaded structure of 7 bays. Brick revetment wall either side of aviary, with rubble base and stone copings, forms retaining wall for top of terrace. Forms the upper tier of terraces to S of castle.
