Arts & Crafts style Village Institute of 1911 designed by T Taliesin Rees of Liverpool. It was built as a memorial to the poet, John "Ceiriog" Hughes of Pen y Bryn. Listed grade II* for its exceptional historic interest as a nationalist foundation in a rural setting illustrating Welsh cultural aspirations in the early C20.
