DescriptionOriginally a late C18 agricultural barn, the building adjoined the later Brecknock Boat Company's Wharf which extended from the Brecon and Abergavenny Canal into the yard and is believed to have been used as a warehouse by the boat company. In the early C20 the canal basin was filled in and the yard was used as a steam roller repair and maintenance depot, the barn being used for storage and its upper floor converted to living accommodation for the workforce. Later, in the 1940s, the yard served as a bus depot and the barn was used as a garage.
