Description
Heol-ddu is an eighteenth century gentry farmstead, the centre of a modest estate, with an unusual collection of dated buildings bearing the initials of P[hilip] Ll[oyd]. The fine collection of buildings centres on the main house, dated 1748 (NPRN 17427). There is a second smaller house of 1773 (NPRN 306650), when the farm or estate was occupied by two brothers. The other eighteenth century buildings are a stable or byre range, dated 1758 (NPRN 306670), and a barn of 1766 (NPRN 306671). The cowhouse range north-west of the house may also be eighteenth century (NPRN 306673), as may the walled garden enclosure to the rear of the stable (NPRN 306674).
