When last described in 1969 Ffynnon Ddygfael was a boarded over shaft in a field. The site lies close by a small pool or pond and is roughly 160m north of the site of Llanddygfael church (NPRN 43596).
The well is first depicted on the OS County series 2nd edition (Anglesey II.14 1900).
