3. A pool in a natural cleft of the rock just above the high water mark, whichis supplied by water from several fissures above the site. Traditionally the water had the power to grant wishes if held in the hand or mouth without spilling a drop while walking around the church (Jones, Holy Wells of Wales 1954, p150).
