DescriptionFirst World War memorial located on an island in the centre of the town. Erected in 1923, the monument is a granite tapering cross on a stepped base set upon a panelled octagonal pedestal with plain plinth. First World War commemorative tablets on pedestal. Wreath relief to plinth with Second World War inscription added to the outer corners. (Cadw Listing database)
The monument is built on a platform terraced into rising ground five steps up from the south side, paved and with plant beds. It is surrounded by a low wall and cast-iron railings between piers.
