DescriptionThe foundations of a windmill are located in the corner of a field about 500m to the south of the earthwork remains of Marcross medieval grange (NPRN 19289). The windmill is 6.1m in external diameter with walls 1.5m thick. On the east side was a door now partly destroyed. The foundations survive to 0.9m high and are built of Lias Limestone rubble cemented with hard sandy lime mortar similar to that found in medieval buildings in the locality, for example Marcross grange. The site was re-visited in 1982 by Ordnance Survey staff who reported that the site ramained unchanged.
