"There are several sheds adjacent to the mill [nprn 40268], but although none looks like a kiln, there are numerous pieces of perforated iron sheet lying about, each 5ft. (1.52m) by 2ft. (0.61m) with holes at 1in. (25mm) spacing. [These] are likely to have been first fitted around 1830."
