DescriptionYard Bridge is a fine stone-built semi-circular span with circular openings in the spandrels at the side of the arch. The bridge was built circa 1824 by Daniel Harper to carry a tramroad over the gorge of the River Tawe, giving access to Lefel Fawr on the south-east bank of the river. Lefel Fawr was opened circa 1796 and was originally intended to be an underground branch of the Swansea Canal.
