1. 13th 14th century origins. Reconstruction in 16th 17th century & radically reconstructed 1746 by Hanbury Williams Arch Camb. 1957. P.Smith. Demolished 1954.
2. House, as above, depicted on OS County series (Monmouth. XII.4 1881); associated with:
Park/gardens (Nprn265936)
Stables (Nprn43211).
Earliest fabric thought to have been 13th C.; tower mentioned in 15th C. praise poem; deer park to SE of house med.: by the mid 18th C., when the N front was given a Georgian facade with Doric portico, the house had towers at each angle, doubtfully a 17th C. arrangement; garden terraces S of house thought to be 16th-17th C: house last occupied c.1930.
