Description
The distinct settlement of Forge Side grew up on the opposite side of the valley from Blaenavon, its parent. It dates from the mid-19th century with rows of terraced housing on a grid plan functionally called A, B, C, D, E Row etc. 'A Row' would logically and visually seem the earliest and is stone-built with small windows. 'B Row' is composed of uniform units but retains the small windows. 'C Row' is brick-built and more generous in the provision of windows with three standard sized windows to each living unit facade.
