Description
Roman road/street running about 300m north-north-east and then north-east, from the north-east gate of Castell Collen fort (NPRN 95708). The change of alignment is at given NGR.
The road to Caersws (NPRN 304960) is thought to branch off to the north-north-west.
Source: Toller, H. (AC 146 (1997), 60-78), 62-3 fig 2.

A suggested continuation of this route, identified either side of Penybont, about 5.5km to the east-north-east (NPRN 86841-2), appears to be a turnpike road. There is some evidence for an alternative route across Llandegley Rhos (NPRN 400042-3).
Such a road may have led to the Hindwell Farm fort (Nprn300470) connecting with the road/street running west from there (Nprn400040).
