Lower Cwm Mill, is the lower of 3 mills. Grist mills at Coombe and Cribbau are mentioned in a survey of 1613. The mill ceased working in 1890. The mill has an overshot wheel. It is thought that the machinery was installed in the 1880's, but was hardly used due to the construction of the Severn Tunnel which affected the water table locally, taking the water supply; it is therefore in near perfect condition.
