Description
Walk Mill is a impressive, three-storey building constructed of random rubblestone, under a pitched slate roof. It has a near symmetrical frontage on the south side, with a central arched opening suggesting that the waterwheel was inside at this position. The west end of the building contained a three-storey cottage, and another low tw0-storey cottage was attached at the east gable. The window heads have segmental stone heads. The mill was built as a fulling mill in the early nineteenth century, and the 1837 Tithe map shows tenter frames outside. The mill was converted to a corn mill sometime before 1886. The mill has been converted to a dwelling, and the millpond was used as a trout farm.
