Description
A deep prominent trench, or channel, runs about 164m north-westward across a level valley terrace. This is assumed to be an outwash channel relating to large scale hydraulicing or hushing activities at the Ogofau gold mines (see NPRN 95141). Its source may have been the 'Field Adit', below the Pen-lan-wen trench opencasts. There are similar channels to the north and south.
An array of parchmark features were recorded in this field in the summer of 1976 (CUAP CBG 82). These include a possible leat, minor outwash channels and what appear to be elements of a field system or enclosure complex.
